If you're sheltering at home, Maine Outdoor Film Festival just launched a $2,500 online short film contestEXTRA CREDIT ADVENTURE EDIT First off today, a tip of the hat to those of you on the frontlines. We're guessing you're probably too busy to be reading this email, but it is still worth saying: the MOFF family appreciates your service and the risks you are taking. Thank you for what you're doing for the greater good. We truly appreciete it.
For the rest of us: we're looking at a minimum of a month at home. (pro tip: face masks in public turn out to be pretty smart).
And MOFF knows that for many of you social distancers, somewhere in your crib, there’s a bunch of old footage from the glory days, just waiting to be edited. And whether the glory days were last month, or last century, we want to see your footage come together.
Everybody could use a positive distraction right now.
That’s why MOFF is putting up $2,500 in cash prizes, for awards in five different short film categories. Let’s show the world what you can do with your old footage in this #StayTheF*ckAtHome time!
Each category will have both an Audience Award and a Jury Award ($250 each, one film can win both category prizes). This contest is free and open to anyone (not just Mainers).
So fire up those home editing suites, pull that footage that’s been begging to see the light of day, and get creative to tell your stories of the outdoors! We’re calling it the: A special challenge for adventure filmmakers from all over the world (or even just regular people who know how to edit) from the Maine Outdoor Film Festival.
Deadline to submit your film is April 25. Then the finalists in each category will premiere during a special MOFF live online premiere on April 30. Online voting will commence after that, and winners will be announced on May 5.
For all the deets and how to submit visit our website here.
