Gravitas Ventures Acquires Multi Award-Winning Documentary “The Center: Gibbons and Guardians”

Gravitas Ventures Acquires Multi Award-Winning Documentary “The Center: Gibbons and Guardians” For Audiences Everywhere September 21st, 2021

“The Center: Gibbons and Guardians” Offers a View Into The Magical World of Gibbons to VOD/Digital & Blu-Ray/DVD Audiences Across North America This Fall

Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has acquired North America rights to Emmy® Award winning filmmaker Alex M. Azmi (“To Climb a Gold Mountain,” and the upcoming “Man and Machine”) captivating award-winning feature documentary “The Center: Gibbons and Guardians, ” which will be released across all TVOD/Digital platforms & Blu-Ray/DVD throughout the North American continent beginning on September 21st, 2021. Azmi’s new documentary is a winner of five festivals from an international film festival run of more than a dozen festivals. It tells the charming and sometimes funny, sometimes startling story of The Gibbon Conservation Center in Santa Clarita, California and features interviews with a number of the leading women who tirelessly champion these charming apes globally including Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace and The Gibbon Conservation Center’s Director Gabriella Skollar, MS.  The film is a riveting cinematic documentary that follows the unexpected dramas at a remote nonprofit wildlife center in the California desert, weaving together the lives of endangered gibbons alongside those who care for them.

At The Gibbon Conservation Center, a determined group of people dedicate their lives to the care of these endangered apes - and in the process, find courage, laughter, and even romance in the engaging documentary “The Center: Gibbons and Guardians, ” which will be released across all TVOD/Digital platforms & Blu-Ray/DVD this fall.

In-person (Covid-19 compliant) press days with the filmmakers, documentary stars – both human and Gibbon at the Center (just north of Los Angeles) will be available later this summer leading into to the film’s release across North America on September 21st, 2021.

“Azmi’s film is a fascinating and oftentimes hilarious look into not only the surprisingly humanlike lives of the gibbons, but the inspiring men and women who have dedicated themselves to studying and preserving the species. We can’t wait to release this film and get it out into the world.” – David Sullivan, Sales & Acquisitions Manager at Gravitas Ventures.

“The Center: Gibbons and Guardians” is co-written by acclaimed filmmakers  Alex M. Azmi Michael Thau (Thau having restored "Superman - The Movie” and produced/edited "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut," among many other high-profile titles), edited by Thau , and produced byThau,  Gabriella Skollar,  Dan Watt (“Everybody Dance,” ”Eurotrash”),executive produced by  Azmi, andfeatures original music by  Ilsik Byun (“The Real Drakoolavs,” “A Night Without Armor”) and Federico Ferrandina (“The Dallas Buyers Club,” “The Big Bang Theory”).

A love triangle that incites jealous rage.  An out-of-control wildfire that threatens lives and livelihoods.  A sudden tragedy that upends a close-knit community.  You might not expect such intense dramas at a small conservation center in the California desert, yet that’s exactly what you’ll get in the documentary, “The Center: Gibbons and Guardians ,” which includes interview with Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace. Watch it to get immersed in the sometimes funny, sometimes startling story of The Gibbon Conservation Center.   There, a determined group of individuals dedicate their lives to the conservation, study, and care of these endangered apes — and in the process, find courage, laughter, and even romance.  The film will keep you riveted as the staff face one challenge after another. The lives of the apes intertwine with those who care for them to create a rich symphony that will make you feel how surprising and passionate life can be.

“I’m glad that we partnered with Gravitas Venture in order for this riveting and important film to reach the wide viewership it deserves in North America.” – Filmmaker Alex M. Azmi.

Ilyssa Goodman and Deborah Gilels, of LA Media Consultants, negotiated on behalf of the filmmaking team directly with David Sullivan, Sales & Acquisitions Manager of Gravitas Ventures.
