Garbiñe Ortega leaves her role as artistic director of Punto de Vista for 4 years

Garbiñe Ortega

Punto de Vista has come to the end of the stage led by Garbiñe Ortega, artistic director of the festival for the last four years. We would like to thank her for all the dedication, affection and effort she has put in over this time and wish her all the best for the future. Garbiñe's work at the helm of the festival has made an important mark that, added to those made by her predecessors, will form part of its history forever.

Since it began in 2006, Punto de Vista has had four artistic directors over the 15 editions it has held, with a strategy of changing its leadership every four years. Thus, in chronological order they have been: Carlos Muguiro (2006-2009), the current director of the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola; Josetxo Cerdán (2010-2013), director of the Filmoteca Española; Oskar Alegria (2015-2017), a film-maker from Navarra who last year had the world première of his film ‘Zumiriki’, and Garbiñe Ortega (2018-2021), who this year ended her time at the festival after four successful years opting for the boldest, most diverse and transformational non-fiction cinema.

Punto de Vista, set up by the government of Navarra and organised by NICDO, has begun the selection process for the new artistic director who will take charge of programming the festival's content starting with next year's edition, to be held in Pamplona from 14th to 19th March 2022.
