Göteborg Film Festival’s Nordic Film Market launches call for films in development

Göteborg Film Festival’s Nordic Film Market expands its Discovery Co-financing Platform for films in development and opens call for Nordic feature projects!

Discovery is Nordic Film Market’s platform for promoting feature films in development, facilitating opportunities to discover new Nordic talents and to connect with co-production and financing partners from all over Europe.

Every year more than 500 sales agents, distributors, producers, funds, public agencies and other industry delegates attend Nordic Film Market, providing the best opportunity in the region to discover projects and connect with Nordic talents and producers.

The 25th Nordic Film Market will take place from Wednesday, January 31 to Friday, February 2, 2024.

Ukrainian residency filmmakers working in Göteborg

The Göteborg Film Fund's programme to support Ukrainian cinema continues. At present, three accomplished filmmakers are present within the city, actively engaging with their respective projects and fostering connections with the local industry.

Svitlana Lishchynska is editing her documentary A Bit of a Stranger, about four generations of women in a Ukrainian family; Elena Rubashevska (residency in cooperation with SWAN/Artists at Risk) is writing her fiction feature, the environmental sci-fi thriller Nature Morte, her multidisciplinary project The Symphony of Donbas and with organising the OKO International Ethnographic Film Festival; and finally, Victoria Zadorska is working with the script for her fantasy dramedy My 19-Year-Old Nan as well as the short Spaceman.

Still there is one more filmmaker to come – in September Olga Gibelinda will arrive with her project Invasion, a mystery/horror film reflecting on war and humanity. Parallelly Gibelinda is working with her documentaries The Firing Line and Queens of Joy.

International and Swedish submissions for next year's Göteborg Film Festival are open until October 31!
