eDIT 11. to honor legendary editor Anne V. Coates

eDIT 11. Filmmaker's Festival bestows Festival Honors 2008 to editor Anne V. Coates, ACE for her inspiring creative contributions to filmmaking. Anne V. Coates will personally accept the honors on occasion of the Festival Opening Gala on September 28th.
With more than 40 professional years, Anne V. Coates is one of the most influential editors in the film business. Her work covers great films from five decades, such as Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Greystoke - Lord of Apes (1984), In the Line of Fire (1993), Erin Brockovich (2000) and most recently The Golden Compass (2007). For Lawrence of Arabia Anne V. Coates won the Academy Award in 1962 for best editing.
Anne V. Coates will do a one on one interview for festival attendees on Monday, September 29th.
Previous Festival Honorees are Michael Ballhaus, Dante Ferretti, Peter Greenaway, Stanley Kubrick, Dennis Muren, Tom Rolf, Vilmos Zsigmond, Phil Tippett, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Ray Harryhausen, Alfred Hitchcock and Terry Gilliam. Andy Serkis won an Special Achievement Award of the Filmmaker's Festival.
