XR PANORAMA

Virtual reality has been showcased at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival for 10 years now, and the technological advancements in this medium have been nothing short of spectacular.

In addition to the second XR competition, the festival will offer a highly eclectic panorama featuring 6 XR films - works that are politically or emotionally charged, a piece accessible from age 12, and Notes on Blindness, which will resonate with its flat version screened as part of the retrospective The Buzz, about sound in cinema.

35th YOUNG AUDIENCE PROGRAMME

The Young Audience screenings offer children and teens the chance to discover the gems of world cinema through our programs and experience their first cinematic emotions. It’s an opportunity for the youngest viewers to sharpen their perspective and critical thinking, shaping them into the festivalgoers of tomorrow through this true school of audience engagement.

To broaden horizons and foster genuine moments of sharing, this year’s program once again highlights themes of togetherness, nature, and exploration of the world.

2nd XR COMPETITION

It has been ten years since virtual reality was first presented at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, and the technical progress achieved in this medium are astounding.

This year, XR is asserting itself a little more--thanks to our partners Festivals Connexion and Evaveo - with a change of screening room, which will be larger and more conducive to films involving spectator movement.

XR screenings will therefore take place in the Gripel room at the Maison de la culture, with six films in competition. [...]
