Bruno Delbonnel wins the Special Award Golden Camera 300 at the ICFF Manaki Brothers

The International Cinematographers' Film Festival Manaki Brothers is proud to announce that the winner of the Special Award Golden Camera 300 for Outstanding Contribution to the World Film Art is Bruno DELBONNEL (A.F.C - Association française des directeurs de la photographie cinématographique, A.S.C. - American Society of Cinematographers) who comes to Macedonia directly from the set of the latest film by Tim BURTON, Dark Shadows starring Johnny DEPP and Michelle PHEIFFER in the main roles.

 

Delbonnel gained world-wide popularity as the cinematographer of two films by the director Jean-Pierre JEUNET, The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain and A Very Long Engagement that he got Academy Award Nominations for, as well as nominations for the BAFTA, ASC Awards, Cesar, and the EFA - European Film Academy Award (the last two of which he won).

 

In 2010 he was nominated for the Academy Award again, for the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

 

He was born in Nancy, France. He studied philosophy at Sorbonne, Paris. He graduated in 1978 at ESEC, the highly appreciated High School of Cinematography. Apart from France, he developed part of his film career in USA.

 

Delbonnel is also the cinematographer of the film Faust by the Russian Director Sokurov, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival only about a week ago.

About the International Cinematographers' Film Festival Manaki Brothers

The International Cinematographer's Film Festival Manaki Brothers, which takes place in Bitola every year, is organized by the Macedonian Film Professionals' Association, under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Macedonia and supported by the Ministry of Culture. The festival, with its impressive program which is largely enriched with every passing year, is attractive to film professionals and film-lovers from all over the world alike.

The pillar of the festival program is Camera 300 - the Official Competition of long-feature films from the latest European and world production. The Directors of photography of the films participating in this program compete for the Golden, Silver and Bronze Camera 300. Apart from the official competition, part of the Festival is also reserved for the Short Film Program, the Manaki Brothers Student Program, there are workshops, seminars, debate sessions, exhibitions. The Festival also awards the Lifetime Achievement Award Golden Camera 300.
