Assumpta Serna will open the film event “Picture Europe! The Best of European Cinema” on Friday, April 13, in the Roxy B /Madrid. The multi-award-winning actress will introduce EFP's new event and welcome Sebastian Schipper, the director of the opening film Ein Freund von mir (A Friend of Mine). European Film Promotion (EFP) is initiating the pan-European project with selected cinemas in Madrid, Berlin and London. Lasting a week in each case, the event will see directors and actors presenting their national cinema highlights from all over Europe to the public (in the original version with subtitles).

Assumpta Serna has appeared in over 65 Spanish and international film productions such as Pedro Almodovar's Matador, Pedro Olea's The Fencing Master and Zalman King's Wild Orchids and received more than 20 awards as Best Actress. She has been committed for several years to involvement on the board of the European Film Academy, writes books about film, teaches acting and develops film projects.
