Aspen Film Announces SummerFILMS and Filmfest Dates

Aspen Film announces the dates for its annual summer and fall programs, the 11th season of SummerFILMS presented in association with the Aspen Music Festival and School and the 31st edition of its flagship event, Aspen Filmfest.

SummerFILMS will take place select Sunday and Monday evenings July 5 - August 16 at 8pm at the Paepcke Auditorium on the Aspen Institute campus. This weekly film series presents regional premieres of new independent and foreign language features and documentaries. SummerFILMS audiences have been among the first to see acclaimed films like La Vie en Rose, Gonzo: The Life and Work of Hunter S. Thompson, March of the Penguins and others. Aspen Film celebrates 30 years of bringing independent film to the Roaring Fork valley with the 31st annual Aspen Filmfest, September 30 - October 4, 2009. Our flagship festival lights up the silver screen with a five-day showcase of must-see international movies and events at the Wheeler Opera House (Aspen), the Isis Theatre (Aspen), the Crystal Theatre (Carbondale) and other locations. This intimately scaled popular festival showcases brand new features, documentaries, filmmaker guest appearances and other special presentations for movie lovers of all ages.
