Filmfest Hamburg: films in the focus of "Vibrant Metropolises"From 24th September to 3rd October 2009 the 17th Filmfest Hamburg focuses in on films treating the topic of "Vibrant Metropolises". Claus Friede, the curator of the Focus' section, says that the selection of 12 international feature and documentary films presents: "metropolises of extreme contrasts. The films contain social criticism, deal with radical strategies of survival, and depict breathless hypermodernity alongside urban traditions that have developed over centuries." Festival Director Albert Wiederspiel sees the films "reflecting current global developments and changes, seen from very different perspectives of urban life, and that show disturbing realities or allow their protagonists to casually drift across town." 19.08.2009 | Editor's blog Cat. : A Virus in the City Al Ghaba (Demons of Cairo) Albert Wiederspiel Artist Astra Beirut Beirut, Open City Belgrade Black Dogs Barking Bombay Bombay Summer Burning Down the House: The Story of CBGB CAIRO cellular telephone Cinema of Canada Claus Friede Contact Details curator Darko Lungulov Director Entertainment Entertainment Examined Life Examined Life Fatih Akin Films Hamburg Hamburg Here and There Human geography Istanbul Low Lights Maryna Gorbach Mehmet Bahadir Er Metropolis Metropolis cinema Movie Release Music Album Release New York New Zealand Open City Person Career Private Sepideh Farsi Social Issues Social Issues Soul Kitchen Soul Kitchen States of Germany Stefan Szczygiel Suspect Technology Technology Téhéran Tehran Tehran Without Permission The Firm Land Urban geography Vibrant Metropolises Vilnius www.filmfesthamburg.de Zeitflug Hamburg - Warschau |
