The Melbourne Documentary Film Festival calling all documentary filmmakers...

1505393595.png

The Melbourne Documentary Film Festival is amongst the world’s newest documentary film festivals and is one of the most fun and interesting stopovers on the international documentary film festival circuit.

Each year the festival curates world class feature and short documentaries direct from some of the hottest most prestigious documentary film festivals in the world, such as Sheffield Doc Fest, Traverse City Film Festival, Doc NYC, SXSW, Doc Edge, and IDFA.

But what matters to us most is documentaries that are well-made, compelling, thought provoking, passionate, and relevant to Australian audiences.

#5 Reasons to Submit:

*       The Melbourne Documentary Film Festival represents a great opportunity to showcase your documentary, with an audience, in a theatre - in one of the best postcodes on the planet

*       One of the largest showcases of local Australian documentaries - showcasing 36 features and shorts in 2016.

*       70% of our feature documentaries were later offered distribution deals on VOD in Australia.

*       The festival curators assess all documentaries and provide feedback on submitted documentaries (upon request).

*        A wide array of prizes ranging from cash prizes, distribution deals, and DVDs, to wine and industry passes and memberships.

#MDFF is looking for:

*       Australian documentaries

*       Music documentaries

*       Environmental documentaries

*       Pop culture documentaries

And that's not it. Find out more HERE.

#It is competitive to get selected, but the rewards are there:

*       Rewards for successful entries ---> Find out HERE.

*       Rewards for unsuccessful entries ---> Find out HERE.
