Final call for the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival

Big Sky Documentary Film Festival

Friday, October 6th marks the late and final submission deadline for the 15th annual Big Sky Documentary Film Festival.

Widely recognized as the premier venue for non-fiction film in the American West, BSDFF accepts entries of all lengths, forms, styles and genres. Selected films, including world and US premieres, classics, rare and experimental works, will screen in historic theater The Wilma and other magnetic venues across beautiful downtown Missoula, Montana, February 16-25, 2018.

In addition to ten days of screenings, the festival features the Big Sky DocShop, a five-day industry event and filmmaker’s forum including panels, master classes, workshops and the Big Sky Pitch for works in progress, as well as the Tribeca Film Institute IF/Then shorts pitch. BSDFF is a competitive event for features, shorts, mini docs and the Big Sky Award with cash awards for winners and Academy award qualification for winners in the shorts and mini doc categories.

Celebrating a milestone year in 2018, Big Sky draws 20,000 attendees annually including thousands of documentary fans, filmmakers, distributors, press and industry professionals. Selected by MovieMaker Magazine's 2017 Film Festivals Worth the Fee, Big Sky is the largest cinema event in Montana and a destination festival for documentary lovers from around the world.
