"terroir" to rep the US in the Lucania Film Festival"terroir" will represent the US in the 21st annual Lucania Film Festival in Pisticci, Italy, August 7-9, 2020. Written, helmed and performed by Dawn Westlake, and produced under her Ron de Cana Prods, Inc. shingle, "terroir" is a musical documentary about how the mother-child relationship can influence our perceptions of very capable female leaders in all sectors of society. The film was shot on location by Pol Carrizo Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona in Wheaton & Peru, IL USA, Font Romeu, France and Vilafranca del Penedes, Catalunya, Spain. He also edited and did the considerable visual effects. An original score was composed and Westlake's voice was coached by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs. "terroir" marks the professional acting debut of 4-yr-old actress Lilly Johnson. "terroir" has now won 4 awards, two at festivals in India for BEST MUSIC VIDEO, an Audience Award at UNCG Sustainability Film Festival in Greensboro, NC USA, and an Honorable Mention - Drama in its world premiere at Festival de Cine de Villa de Leyva in Colombia. It was nominated Best Documentary at the Halicarnassus Film Festival in Bodrum, Turkey in July 2020.
