SCRAPPY wins the People's Choice Award at RATMA!"Scrappy", helmed by Dawn Westlake, based on her father Donald G. Westlake's Studs Terkel Humanities Award-winning poem of the same name, has won the People's Choice Award at the RATMA Film Festival in Keighley, UK. The film is based on a real-life anecdote from Donald's childhood when he had to stand up to the culture of gun violence in the USA. "Scrappy" was shot on location in Pine Mountain, CA, USA and edited in Los Angeles by Pol Carrizo Vilarroig. An original score was provided by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs. Johnson was a 2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee at Soundtrack_Cologne for his 2015 collaboration with Westlake, "Through the Pane". "Scrappy" marks the professional acting debut of 5-year-old actress Nefertina Lizarraga and her dog, Kong (as SCRAPPY). 21.11.2017 | Dawn Westlake's blog Cat. : Adobe Premiere Pro award canonC300 child DaVinci Resolve dog England girl gun livestock love mountain peace pet RATMA rural uk violence winner Shorts
