SCRAPPY selected to screen in Dunedin International Film Festival in Florida!

SCRAPPY has been chosen for the Cats & Dogs Section of the 2019 Dunedin International Film Festival in Dunedin, Florida, USA. The anti-gun violence film was praised by the festival director as a film "...about love conquering violence. I appreciated the theme that the pure heart of a child can warm the hardened heart of an adult." The Dunedin International Film Festival runs January 12-13, 2019.

Written for the screen, produced and helmed by Dawn Westlake, "Scrappy" is entirely based on the Studs Terkel Award-winning poem by Donald G. Westlake, Dawn's father. It marks the professional acting debut of 5-yr-old Nefertina Lizarraga and her family dog, Kong (in the titular role of SCRAPPY). Pol Carrizo Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona filmed and edited. An original score was composed by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs.

Canon USA, Inc. provided the production with a CanonC300 and other gear as Dawn Westlake is a Canon Platinum Filmmaker since 2002.
