Scrappy is a finalist in Corti in Cortile!"Scrappy" is one of only 2 US films selected as finalists in the 9th edition of Corti in Cortile in Catania, Italy for September 22-24, 2017. Adapted for the screen by director Dawn Westlake, "Scrappy" is based on the Studs Terkel Humanities Award-winning poem by Donald G. Westlake. It recounts a real-life anecdote from Donald's childhood in rural Elburn, Illinois during the 1930s when he had to stand up to the gun culture in the USA to save the life of his little dog. "Scrappy" was shot on the CanonC300 in Pine Mountain, California by Pol Carrizo-Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona. He also edited and did VFX. An original score was provided by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs. Johnson is a 2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee.
