Courthouse Launch a Huge Success!

Clones
Courthouse was filled to capacity last Friday night for
Clones Film Club's and its screening of the 1957 classic
“Twelve Angry Men”.The big screen experience and the atmosphere of
conviviality, which prevailed, enthralled film loving locals and
visitors alike. Audience enthusiasm was palpable as folk collectively
responded to the tension, drama and flashes of humour, which punctuated
this vintage courtroom drama. The sense of occasion was greatly enhanced
by the delicious nibbles and wine reception, sponsored by Siobhan
Sheerin and Geraldine Sheerin of Clones Country Market, which preceded
the screening. Patrons had the opportunity to enjoy the refreshments,
have a chat and admire the sophistication of the newly refurbished
building which was made available thanks to the generous support of
Monaghan County Council.The event was organised by the committee of Clones Film Festival;
who professed themselves “delighted” with the turnout and with the
feedback received. “As usual, local people have been fantastically
supportive”, commented Paula McQuillan of the Film Festival committee.
“It’s thanks to them this event has been a great success and the
feedback has been incredibly positive, so it looks like Clones Film
Club screenings are set to become a regular feature of the local
calendar.”
