Cellar Door Film Festival (CDFF) is Ottawa’s first showcase of speculative cinema, which celebrates the creativity of the Ottawa film scene and spotlights the city as a setting for the sinister and supernatural. CDFF encourages film culture, education, and production in Ottawa by promoting the creation, screening, and distribution of local, national and international films in the Nation’s capital.

A Peek Behind the Cellar Door

20 May, 2014 - Ottawa - Cellar Door Film Festival

The Cellar Door Film Festival invites Ottawa filmgoers to take a peek behind the Cellar Door at Club SAW on June 17. This event gives the community a taste of what to expect from Ottawa's newest film festival by enjoying a screening of Dario Argento's cult classic Deep Red(alternatively known as The Hatchet Murders). The event will also include a screening of the CDFF Promo Reel Challenge winner by local artist Janet Hetherington and a silent auction (cash only) with proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. CDFF gratefully acknowledges the support of Bridgehead, Club SAW, The Haunted Walk of Ottawa, the School for Studies in Art and Culture at Carleton University, and Used Ottawa for their support in this event.

Event details are as follows:

Event: A Peek Behind the Cellar Door
Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Doors open: 7:00 PM
Admission: $2 (Tickets will be sold at the door; cash only)

Location: Club SAW, 67 Nicholas St., Ottawa, ON

Schedule: Event begins with silent auction and introduction, followed by a screening of the CDFF Promo Reel and Deep Red (approx 110 min.)
Note: Alcoholic beverages will be sold (I.D. required). Non-alcoholic beverages also available.
