Upcoming Rugby-based UK/India Co-production ‘Jungle Cry’ Teams Up With adidasOfficial Film Trailer and Poster to be Unveiled During 2019 Festival de Cannes at Special VIP Events
Global leader in the sporting goods industry adidas has partnered with the much-awaited sports biopic Jungle Cry that recently completed filming in India and Wales. ‘Jungle Cry’ will unveil its official trailer and poster at special events during the 72nd Festival de Cannes.
Based on the lives of 12 underprivileged children from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Orissa, ‘Jungle Cry’ follows their triumphant journey to the International Junior Rugby Tournament held in England in 2007.
“It was a pleasure to have adidas on board. The iconic company gave our athletes sportswear, gear and footwear to pump them up for the film, truly giving the team a global persona,” says producer Prashant Shah.
“adidas has always been one of my favorite brands. Having the boys and us don adidas gear was indeed a treat! I fondly remember the boys being very excited to lace up,” comments lead actor Abhay Deol. “The film shows the very spirit of the original underdog teenage tribal heroes from Odisha who won the Rugby World Cup against South Africa. It is also the same belief that holds true for the kids facing the cameras in Jungle Cry.”
Emily Shah, who plays the part of Team India’s physiotherapist in the film adds, “adidas is a long-time supporter of the sport of rugby and I’m delighted the company is partnering with our film to bring the inspirational story of these young athletes to global film audiences.”
Jungle Cry’s original soundtrack and music will be distributed worldwide by Sony Music.
Directed by Sagar Ballary, the film is produced under Bollywood Hollywood Production and producers Prashant Shah and Jaswant Singh, and associate producer Shabbir Boxwala.
The movie is also scheduled to be screened at Tokyo, Japan Rugby World Cup 2019 and will be released this summer in India.
