The world's largest film market, the Marché du Film of the Cannes FIlm Festival, is partnering with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) to announce an all new CES Innovation award category devoted to Filmmaking & Distribution in partnership with Cannes Next. The purpose of this award is to recognize and uplift companies, startups, entrepreneurs and filmmakers involved with new technologies that empower talented industry professionals across all facets of the filmmaking process. Some of the new technologies that are eligible for this award include, but are not limited to, advanced solutions for sales and distribution, pioneering generative AI technologies, innovative pre- and post-production tools, and contemporary streaming and distribution platform development. CTA and the Marché du FIlm value these innovations so greatly because they reinvent the field, elevating the experience for both artists and consumers across the industry.

The winners of this prestigious award will be selected by a jury handpicked by the Marché du Film and CTA. The jury's goal is to recognize the pinnacle of  impactful solutions, bringing this award to the forefront of global veneration in terms of notable filmmaking and distribution technology. The Vice Chair and CEO of CTA, Gary Shapiro, speaks to this significance, stating "This award showcases how creators in film can use tech to unlock new worlds.
