The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission’s funded film, Stolen, has been confirmed to commence principal photography in London

The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commissions funded film, Stolen, has been confirmed to commence principal photography in London during the month of June, and resume production in Durban, South Africa in July 2022.

 

Starring Christine Adams, Jimmy Jean Louis, Noxolo Dlamini, Luka Peros, Michael Landes and Danielle Harold, the story centers around Seline, whose life takes a tragic turn when her teenage daughter Tenika is involved in a fatal shooting on the streets of Durban while on holiday in South Africa.  Mother and daughter have a deep bond therefore Seline is crushed while she fly's over to identify her daughters body only to discover the police have wrongly identified Tenika.

 

Speaking on the partnership, Uzanenkosi highlighted that this is a franchise that the world has been waiting for and will be talking about for a long time. The team has worked meticulously on the project, ensuring that both the countries are well represented in terms of the storyline, the cast and crew. About Stolen:

Synopsis

Seline’s life takes a tragic turn when her teenage daughter Tenika is involved in a fatal shooting on the streets of Durban while on holiday in South Africa.  Mother and daughter have a deep bond so Seline is crushed while she fly's over to identify her daughters body only to discover the police have wrongly identified Tenika.


With Tenika's father locked up and her military colleagues on a job in the UK, Seline has no choice but to use all of her military skills to find her daughter which leads to an underground group illegally trafficking human organs.

Seline Franklin is single mother with an impressive military background.  Now working in the commercial sector, running a successful private security firm with hand picked staff who served with her when she led a special forces unit in Afghanistan. Seline and her loyal team act as personal bodyguards to the rich and powerful.  Her latest client, Charles Bromwell is a multi millionaire businessman who has been receiving death threats because of his involvement with a high profile fraud case which lost his clients millions of their hard earned pensions.  Through Seline and her team's’ quick action, they save Bromwell’s life, earning his gratitude and that of his young son, Scott who needs 24 hour care while he waits for a kidney transplant.

 

 

The Producers:

Shantelle Rochester opened her first two companies at the age of twenty-two, which made high-end commercials and film. It was also a training academy for underrepresented young people. Shantelle has worked on European films as a producer or lineproducer such as The Rise of the Krays” , London Heist” and Two Graveswhich won the Best Feature Film award at the British Urban Film Festival. Since then Shantelle has founded Ida Rose which has a slate of films, series and digital projects with the first film of 2022 entitled Stolen. This is a South African and UK Co production under the official South African and UK Trade Mission alongside the Kwazulu-Natal Film Commission and the BFI. With over 15 years in the industry Shantelle has gained extensive experience with budgets, business and financial structures and offers these services at Ida Rose. Shantelle continues to work in the industry as a producer, line-producer and actress.

 

Uzanenkosi has more than 20 years of experience in the creative industry. Soon after winning AFDA's "Best Screenwriter '97", filial responsibility dictated he walk away from his full scholarship and start working in the industry from the bottom up, which proved to be an opportunity to work and be groomed by the best in the South African film and television industry. During this time, Uzanenkosi produced some of the most successful television programs and films, such as 'All You Need Is Love', 'Soul Buddyz' and 'Big Brother Africa'.  After leaving Endemol SA, Uzanenkosi opened his own company ANTS Multimedia and originated InterSEXions, which won The George Foster Peabody Award. ANTS Multimedia continues to create successful film and television programs locally and internationally.
