Eva Blondiau one of the 20 Producers in the Move selected for the Cannes program

The successful networking program of the European Film Promotion (EFP)  goes into its 20th edition. Again 20 promising and aspiring producers from all over Europe will be taking part in the EFP's PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE program during the Festival de Cannes. Eva Blondiau (COLOR OF MAY), who was nominated by EFP member German Films, will be part of the line-up on the German side.

Eva Blondiau graduated from the ifs international film school in Cologne in 2012 with her production of Elmar Imanov's THE SWING OF THE COFFIN MAKER. Her partner's graduation film was invited to more than 100 festivals and won over 40 awards, including the Student Oscar®. In 2013, they founded their production company COLOR OF MAY and produced their next short, TORN, which premiered in the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes in 2014. Since then, they have co-produced Iosep ’Soso’ Bliadze's short THREE STEPS and Veronika Glasunowa and Lukasz Lakomy's feature documentary LONG ECHO as well as Boris Khlebnikov's ARRHYTHMIA. Imanov's feature debut END OF SEASON won the FIPRESCI Prize when it premiered in Rotterdam in 2019.

Eva Blondiau about her nomination: "I am very happy! [It] is a great recognition and appreciation of my work and will bring me another step further. Thank you to German Films for nominating me."

The PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE platform provides its participants with a tailor-made program in Cannes to support the exchange of experiences between European producers, giving them an opportunity to establish new networks, and thus facilitate international co-productions. This includes roundtable pitching sessions, one-to-one speed dating meetings, case studies on successful projects and various opportunities for conversations about transnational issues.

Each year sees the program resulting in a number of international co-productions among the participants or with partners they met during the project. Former PRODUCERS ON THE MOVEare involved in a total of three titles screening in the Competition of this year's Festival de Cannes.

PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE is supported by Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme of the European Union as well as the EFP member organizations, including German Films.
