Cannes in the City : the Marché du Film organizes screenings abroad in 5 cities.

The regulations allowing foreigners to travel to Cannes have just been published and will allow professionals from a large part of the world to participate in the Marché du Film. Europe will be the most represented continent, with already 50% of its usual attendance, and the number of American professionals is growing day by day and already represents more than 10% of the accredited.

The Marché will offer more than 500 screenings in Cannes and has decided this year to also organize industry screenings in 5 major countries, for buyers and festival programmers unable to travel. These screenings will take place in Melbourne (Cinema Palace Como), Mexico City (Cinepolis Diana), Beijing (French Institute Auditorium), Seoul (Art Nine) and Tokyo (The Film School of Tokyo and Eurolive). They will be reserved for buyers, distributors, streaming platforms, festival programmers, on July 8, 9 and from July 12 to 16, the day after the official screening in Cannes. To date, about thirty productions have given their agreement:

Les règles permettant aux étrangers de se rendre à Cannes viennent d’être publiées et vont permettre aux professionnels d’une grande partie du monde de participer au Marché du Film. L’Europe sera le continent le plus représenté, avec déjà 50% de sa fréquentation habituelle, et le nombre de professionnels américains progresse de jour en jour et représente déjà plus de 10% des accrédités.

Le Marché proposera plus de 500 projections à Cannes et a décidé cette année d’organiser aussi des projections pour l’industrie dans 5 pays majeurs, pour  les acheteurs ne pouvant se déplacer. Elles seront réservées aux acheteurs, distributeurs, plateformes de streaming, programmateurs de festivals, les 8, 9 et du 12 au 16 juillet, le lendemain de la projection officielle à Cannes. A ce jour, une trentaine de productions ont donné leur accord :
