IN RESPONSE TO THE CANCELLATION OF THE 73RD FESTIVAL DE CANNES

Yolonda Brinkley has launched Cannes Conversations, a 12 day digital speaker series highlighting Cannes Film Festival alums as well as other festival connoiseurs. Now through May 23, 2020, we will go live via Zoom or Diversity in Cannes' Instagram page, 3PM EST daily, to chat with filmmakers about their Cannes experience, the impact Festival attendance has had on their careers, thoughts on its cancellation and strategies for moving forward.

Today is Day 4, and we are delighted to have Annie Silverstein, director of the 2019 Festival de Cannes official selection "Bull", in the studio. Join us as we discuss her rise from Cinefondation student winner to Un Certain Regard and Bull’s VOD release, nearly one year after its premiere at Cannes. She'll be joined by producer Monique Walton and Yolonda Ross of The Chi, who stars in the film.

While the schedule hasn't been completely finalized we have confirmed guests including actors, directors and producers, all regular festival attendees prepared to add immediate value to our discussions. We've also, extended invitations to Lisa Cortes (@misscortes), Annemarie Jacir (@annamariajacir), Bill Duke (@realbillduke), Effie T. Brown @(iamfuriousblack) (Atelier Program) and Spike Lee (@officialspikelee, all Cannes Film Festival alums.

To help us out, let's encourage their participation by sharing the graphic below and tagging them on social media, with a post similar to the following.... @officialspikelee, please consider joining Diversity in Cannes' Cannes Conversations. We'd love you to share your Cannes experiences. Be sure to tag @diversencannes and use #diversityincannes.

With that, I hope all are safe and Coronavirus free!

Praying for global healing!
