At 2:30 PM, several top film publicists will share their tips and insights into the world of film publicity at the Industry in Focus: Secrets of PR Pros panel.  Join us for an interesting discussion about this so often misunderstood field.

In the evening, the American Pavilion will be having our annual Membership Cocktail Party from 6-8 PM!  This will be a great opportunity to meet or catch up with fellow members.  Come network, enjoy the delicious fare, and take in the stunning view!  "Vive Cannes"!

The Industry in Focus: Producing for VR panel will start at 11:00 AMMaxim Jago – VR Consultant for Futurist and author of the manuals for leading software platforms Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer – will be moderating a discussion on strategies and practical approaches to creating compelling Virtual Reality content with VR innovators, while also considering the financial ramifications.

Join us at 12:30 PM for a deep dive film conversation with John Carpenter, legendary filmmaker, composer, and master of the horror genre!  Carpenter will receive the 2019 Golden Coach Award at Directors’ Fortnight before joining us at the American Pavilion for an exclusive discussion with IMDb’s Senior Film Editor, Keith Simanton.

The Carpenter discussion will be followed by the Industry in Focus: It’s Called Show Business panel at 2:00 PMJonathan Gray (producer and entertainment attorney of Moonlight and Fredrik Zander (producer for Jim Jarmusch’s opening night competition film, The Dead Don’t Die) will join several other knowledgeable experts to connect the dots on independent film financing.  Topics will include how to find film investors and properly set up your production company in order to receive investors’ money, as well as the do’s and don’ts of film financing.

Finally, the Industry in Focus: Storytellers and the Creative Process panel will take place at 4:00 PM.  A group of accomplished filmmakers, including Natalie Metzger from Vanishing Angle and Ross Fremer from Cinetic Media, will be come together to discuss the creative process and their take on what makes for a truly engaging story.  Come learn from the best!
