AFI World Peace Initiative in Cannes Awards

A reception in Cannes at AMPAV celebrated (brunch on May 22nd) filmmakers from all over the world whose contributions were recognised by a distinguished group of jurors from China, India, USA and Europe.

HRH Angelique Monet was hosting the event for the 4th time, filmfestivals.com was a partner.

Honoring Rob Stewart and his legacy, a prize for Sharkwater Extinction (his final film) was handed to his parents Sandy and Brian Stewart.



Kiril Razlogov picked up the prize for The Mystery of a Buryat Lama which he produced, here with SIFFA founder and President Luba Balagova.
This cinematic study tells us a story of one of the most famous lamas in Russia and Buryatia, XII Pandido Khambo Lama Dashi Dorzho Itigelov.

Entertainment veterans will be honored during Festival de Cannes with United Nations supported NGO New Generation In Action’s AFI World Peace Initiative 

 

Cannes, France (May 20, 2019) On May 22nd during Festival de Cannes New Generation In Action’s AFI World Peace Initiative a NGO which holds Special Consultative Status to the United Nations (ECOSOC) will host the annual “World Peace & Tolerance Brunch,” at the American Pavilion. The group will honor “films of purpose,” and esteemed individuals who have contributed to humanitarian and the arts arenas. 

 

“It is an honor to continue the tradition during the most prestigious film festival in the world to honor films of purpose and individuals who have achieved in the arts and contributed to help make our world a better place. We are also pleased to launch the Rob Stewart Conservationist Award, and Karl Bardosh Humanitarian Cell Phone Cinema Award” stated multi-media talent and Founder HRH Princess Dame Angelique Monet. 

 

The New Generation In Action (NGIA) is an NGO that is recognized with Special Consultative Status by the United Nations.  The NGIA has been utilizing the diversity of media platforms to promote respect and dignity across the broad spectrum of global society regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or religion.  With its AFI World Peace Initiative, the NGIA has chosen film as an impactful means to educate, enlighten and inform audiences of all ages, around the world, with a better understanding of the existential issues facing us all today.   Through its multimedia initiatives, including film screenings and distribution to schools, universities, museums and libraries the  NGIA has been able to engage audiences in the Middle East, Africa, India and Asia.
