![]() The Ile de France Film Commission and Film London sign a partnership agreement in Festival de CannesOlivier-René VEILLON, Executive Director of the Ile de France Film Commission, and Adrian WOOTTON, Chief Executive of Film London, signed a partnership agreement between the two Capital cities this afternoon (Friday May 14th) at the Cannes Film Festival at the Ile de France Region stand. FILM LONDON and ILE DE FRANCE FILM COMMISSION have a common objective in promoting their respective regions to national and international production companies. As such they have decided to put in place a formal partnership as a basis of future collaboration. As part of this new partnership FILM LONDON and ILE DE FRANCE FILM COMMISSION will bring together Production and Post Production talents from London and Ile de France to attend key film industry events either side of the Channel. Up to four French producers will attend the Film London Production Finance Market (PFM) (www.filmlondon.org.uk/PFM) in October to pitch their projects to international film financiers, coinciding with the PFMs aim to broaden links with Europe. While up to four emerging post production professionals from London will attend Parisfx (www.parisfx.fr) in December to ensure there is a creative and talent exchange between our two post production industries. Moreover, these two organizations have launched initiatives in their respective countries to develop sustainability in film and audiovisual production: ECOPROD in Ile de France / (www.ecoprod.com) and GREEN SCREEN in London (www.filmlondon.org.uk/GreenScreen); and both wish to join their common interest in this essential matter. This partnership provides a formal exchange of information and best practice to allow both regions to develop and build on these vital initiatives. Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London said: “This is the first time such an agreement has been signed which will see cooperation between the two production industries in our great capital cities. I believe this partnership represents an intelligent response to competition and collaboration, recognising the similarities and differences between our respective organisations and indentifying some tangible initial areas we can work together that we hope to build on.” FILM LONDON, the capital’s film and media agency, aims to ensure London has a thriving film sector that enriches the city’s businesses and its people. Through the Filming Partnership: London and the South East, the agency sustains, promotes and develops the region as a major international production and film cultural capital, working with all the screen industries including film, television, video, commercials and new interactive media.
