Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Paul Haggis, Oscar Winner writer and director to co host Ischia Global presentation Saturday (May 19th) at 11:15am

Multi Oscar®-winning American screenwriter and film director Paul Haggis (Crash, 2004) will co-host the official presentation of the 2012 Ischia Global Film & Music Fest in Cannes Saturday (May 19th) at 11:15am at the International Village's Italian Pavilion. Joining him will be Italian iconic movie producer Marina Cicogna, Rumanian supermodel and actress Madalina Ghenea, producers Avi Lerner (Nu Image), Nicolas Chartier (Voltage Pictures), and Fulvio Lucisano (IIF) along with Fest founder and producer Pascal Vicedomini.
The 10th annual Ischia Global Film & Music Fest, hailed as the show biz event of the summer, will take place from July 8th to the 15th on the magnificent "Green Island" of Ischia, which is off the coast of Naples.
"We are extremely proud to present the 10th edition of our Festival to the media, members of the gloal filmmaking, sales and exhibition communities currently in Cannes," said Vicedomini. "The maestro Paul Haggis is not only an eminent filmmaker but also a great ambassador of solidarity and peace. His charitable foundation has effectively supported the victims of the earthquake that devastated the island of Haiti and will continue to help them with the funds he will raise in Cannes."
Haggis, a long-time member of the Fest's Executive Board, is currently in pre-production on Third Person, with Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde and Naomi Watts attached. His most recent film was The Next Three Days (starring Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks).
Among the highlights of the 2012 Ischia Global Film & Music Fest will be the ‘Social Cinema Forum - Honoring Diversity,' chaired by British producer Trudie Styler, as well as the 'Movie Educational Seminar' under the tutelage of outstanding faculty such as directors Joel Schumacher and Lina Wertmuller and screenwriter Valerio Massimo Manfredi.
Joining Vicedomini in overseeing this year's Ischia Global Film & Music Fest are chairpersons Paula Wagner and Rick Nicita along with President Trudie Styler, Honorary President Tony Renis, and an Executive Board comprised of producers Mark Canton, Marina Cicogna and Aurelio De Laurentiis, multi Oscar-winning production designers Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo, Haggis, director Joel Schumacher and Italian movie icons Franco Nero, Lina Wertmuller and Enrico Lucherini.
The event (www.ischiaglobal.com) is presented by Accademia Internazionale Arte Ischia in association with the support of the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Campania Region and the Department of Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
