Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Hot Tickets: Eddington and Bono: Stories of Surrender - May 16

Tonight, we have two Hot Ticket movies on the slate at Cannes: Eddington and Bono: Stories of Surrender. Ari Aster’s next project has been on the radar since it was teased back in April and has been one of the major contenders in the Competition for the coveted Palme d’Or award. The Synopsis for Eddington reads: “In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.”

Bono: Stories of Surrender is one of Cannes ‘Special Screenings this year and has had some buzz ahead of its screening at Cannes. Bono is also expected to make his Cannes red carpet debut tonight. The synopsis reads: “Bono: Stories of Surrender” is a vivid reimagining of Bono’s critically acclaimed one-man stage show, “Stories of Surrender: An Evening of Words, Music and Some Mischief…” As he pulls back the curtain on a remarkable life and the family, friends, and faith that have challenged and sustained him, he also reveals personal stories about his journey as a son, father, husband, activist, and rock star. Along with never-before-seen, exclusive footage from the tour, the film features Bono performing many of the iconic U2 songs that have shaped his life and legacy.

Both films will be on the Red Carpet tonight, and with the large amount of anticipation behind both projects, it’s very easy to say that both films are tonight's Hot Tickets.
