It's called Cinema de la Plage, meaning Cinema of the Beach. On the Croisette, amongst Cannes' busy nightlife, is a spot where those who would like to get away from the bustling crowds can relax and watch a movie on the beach. The set up consists of a huge projection screen displayed in front of the ocean, where the audience can cuddle up on a blanket in the sand or on the comfy chairs outside. There is one movie shown every night of the festival at 8:30pm, as long as wheather permits. The following is the Cinema de la Plage schedule for the rest of the week: Monday, May 19 Tuesday, May 20 Wednesday, May 21 Thursday, May 22 Friday, May 23 Saturday, May 24 19.05.2008 | Cannes's blog Cat. : Alpes-Maritimes Angelo Badalamenti Angelo Badalamenti Camille Bazbaz CAMILLE BAZBAZ Cannes Cannes Cannes cannes festival Cannes Film Festival CASSAVETESI AM CDATA David Lynch Departments of France Don Siegel France François-Eudes Chanfrault Human Interest Human Interest Larry Wachowski Mel Brooks Mervyn Leroy Peter Bogdanovich Promenade de la Croisette Robert Aldrich Rock Music the Cannes Film Festival Zoe ZOÉ CASSAVETESI

Hi,
I will be in Nice by May 25 to 27, and I plan to go to Cannes (a short ride away, I hear) to catch a movie in Cinema de la Plage. Will there still be film showings AFTER May 24?
Thanks!
Ingrid
