Amfar Fundraiser at Du Cap on May 21st will be a Star Studded Event
AmfAR, the American foundation for AIDS Research, will hold its 15th annual 'Cinema Against AIDS' fundraising gala on May 21, 2009. For the first time, the black-tie dinner and auction will be held at the Eden Roc Hotel du Cap and will feature remarks by Bill Clinton and Annie Lennox. Tickets are pricey but it all goes to a good cause; over the years the event has raised over $19 million dollars for AIDS research. The auction this year is set to include Clinton's Alpine alto saxophone, Diesel's Renzo Rosso- designed Fiat 500 car, a private screening of "Inglorious Bastards" for 50 people, a Chanel Segway, and a private tennis lesson with Monica Seles and Jelena Jankovic. The fundraiser is always the most well publicized party of the Cannes Film Festival and this years bash is no exception. Guests this year will include Sharon Stone (Amfar's global fundraising chair), Harvey Weinstein, Quentin Tarantino, Lars von Trier, Marion Cotillard, Michelle Yeoh, Isabelle Huppert, Robin Wright Penn, 50 cent, Emile Hirsch, and Diane Kruger to name a few. 20.05.2009 | Cannes's blog Cat. : AIDS research amfar AmfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research Annie Lennox Annie Lennox Bill Clinton Bill Clinton CDATA chair Cinema of the United States Clothing Diane Kruger Diesel Eden Roc hotel Emile Hirsch Fiat 500 fundraiser Harvey Weinstein Hotel du Cap Inglorious Bastards Isabelle Huppert Jelena Jankovic Lars Von Trier Marion Cotillard Michelle Yeoh Monica Seles Person Attributes Quentin Tarantino Quentin Tarantino Renzo Rosso Renzo Rosso Robin Wright Penn Sharon Stone Social Issues Social Issues the Cannes Film Festival
