Bill ConningtonZOMBIE is based on the novella by the famous American author Joyce Carol Oates. It tells the story of a mild-mannered Jeffrey Dahmer-esque serial killer, and his final crime. It was adapted first as a play and performed three times in New York City, then shot as a short film. It has won "Best Short Film (Horror)" at the Washington DC International Film Festival, and "Best Short Dramatic Screenplay" and "Best Supporting Actor" at the Terror Film Festival in Philadelphia. It is an official selection at 15 film festivals so far. ZOMBIE is scheduled to be shot as a feature in 2012. www.zombiethefilm.com www.zombietheplay.com ![]() Further Development of ZOMBIE, based on the novella by Joyce Carol OatesIt's been quite a journey developing the film of ZOMBIE. First I adpated Joyce Carol Oates' novella into a solo play that I performed at the New York International Film Festival. Then I performed it for extended runs twice Off-Broadway. We made a short film (19 minutes) that is an official selection at 15 film festivals so far. We've won a number of awards -- first with the play, and now with the film. For the film we've won "Best Short Film (Horro)" "Best Supporting Actor" and "Best Short Dramatic Screenplay." I'm looking forward to meeting with the director Thomas Caruso tomorrow, to discuss the development of the feature of ZOMBIE. And the journey continues. www.zombiethefilm.com 30.11.2011 | Bill Connington's blog Cat. : actor CDATA Contact Details Director Entertainment Entertainment Fiction forward Gothic fiction horror Joyce joyce carol oates Joyce Carol Oates Joyce Carol Oates Literature Person Career Person Communication serial killers Speculative fiction Technology Technology The New York International Film Festival Thomas Caruso www.zombiethefilm.com Zombie
