Quebec Feature Film THE TWENTIETH CENTURY by Matthew Rankin Winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlinale!

Maison 4:3 and Voyelles Films are proud to announce that the Quebec feature film The Twentieth Century by Matthew Rankin won the FIPRESCI prize of the International Federation of Film Critics for a film in the Forum section of the Berlin International Film Festival. The prize was awarded on Friday night during the closing ceremony of the 70th edition, in the presence of producers Gabrielle Tougas-Fréchette and Ménaïc Raoul, who accepted this prestigious honour.

After being presented in more than twenty festivals worldwide, winning many awards, and earning no fewer than 8 nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards, the film is playing in Montréal for an 11th week. It will be presented at Cinéma Moderne on March 2, 8, and 28.

The Twentieth Century will also screen during the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma on Friday, March 6 at 8:30 p.m. at Cinéma Cineplex Odeon Quartier Latin. As part of the festival, it is eligible for the Gilles-Carle Award—Best first or second feature-length fiction film, as well as the Jacques-Marcotte Award — Best screenplay.

The film is represented internationally by the Brussels sales agent Best Friend Forever.

THE TWENTIETH CENTURY was produced with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada, Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), the Harold Greenberg Fund, the Film and Television Tax Credit (Gestion SODEC) and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, with the collaboration of Voyelles Films and Maison 4:3.
