PHOENIX CLOSES EMPIRES STUDIOS CANNIBAL CABIN AND DEATH RANCH FOR NORTH AMERICA, UK, JAPAN IN BERLIN

Jamie McLeod-Ross & Charley McDougall founders of British production company Empire Studios are the producers and exec producers of CANNIBAL CABIN and DEATH RANCH. The boys had a very busy 2020 with Neil Marshall’s, (Descent, Centurion, Game Of Thrones) latest feature ‘THE RECKONING” due for cinematic release in the UK and USA 2021.

CANNIBAL CABIN is a co-production with British production company Champ Dog Films and is directed and produced by owner Louisa Warren (LIZARD MAN, THE VIKING WAR, PAGAN WARRIOR) and Written by Charley McDougall.

Louisa has directed multiple globally distributed features across horror, fantasy, thriller, sci-fi, adventure and virtual reality. Louisa has also produced the TV Series Documentary BRITAINS GREATEST GHOST STORIES, the festival smash hit LGBT short THE SUIT WEARETH THE MAN (dir. Mitchell Marion) and THE GHOSTS OF BORLEY RECTORY (dir. Steven M. Smith,) featuring Ex ‘Dr Who’ Colin Baker, 80s pop legend Toyah Willcox, ‘The Bill’s Christopher Ellison, and Julian Sands of the triple Oscar winning film ‘A Room With A View.’

‘A British Texas Chain Saw Massacre’

The Story:

A group of 20 somethings want to end the summer on a high, they take the advice from a girl they met at a festival about a secret rave deep in the Valleys. When their route is detoured they have no choice but to venture into the unknown. Once they come across a derelict Leisure Park, they soon realize what they thought was their salvation turns out to be the heart of the Cannibals lair.

DEATH RANCH is written and directed by Charlie Steeds known for ‘THE BARGE PEOPLE’ and ‘WEREWOLF IN ENGLAND’ recently released in the UK by High Flyers. His first feature ‘ESCAPE FROM CANNIBAL FARM’ was hailed as a ‘Brutal Masterpiece’. Charlie is a prolific British up and coming writer director to watch with his company Dark Temple Motion Pictures who also co-produced the film.

The Story;

1970s USA, Three African American siblings on the run from the police take refuge at an abandoned Tennessee Ranch, unaware their hideout is on the hunting grounds of a cannibalistic Ku Klux Klan cult...Trapped and tortured, the three must fight tooth and nail to escape alive and take down the bloodthirsty Klan.

Grindstone Home Entertainment for North America rights has picked up CANNIBAL CABIN, with DEATH RANCH being picked up by 4 Digital Media in North America and High Fliers for the UK. DEATH RANCH will be released for April 2021 in both territories and in Japan by EDEN.

Empire Studios mission is to grow as a British studio working in the action, horror, and thriller genres. They have 2 films green lit for 2021 with their next action thriller CONTAINER shooting in Spain, after that they will be gearing up for psychological thriller THE CONFESSION which is casting at present and will shoot in and around London.
