Genre sale outfit Devilworks has added two titles to its slate ahead of the European Film Market in Berlin

  (exclusive) 

After The Lethargy, the first English language feature from writer-director-producer Marc Carrete (Asmodexia, Framed), is a sci-fi centred on a young journalist who travels to the site of a terrifying alien abduction. 

The title was first screened in the Pitchbox programme at Sitges as a proof of concept; Devilworks has taken worldwide rights.

Another new acquisition is An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted), a horror romance directed and written by Anne Welles. It centres Ted, who is in denial about being a zombie until he meets a young vampire at a paranormal therapy session. 

It was released on VOD in North America by Gravitas Ventures on October 16, 2018.

Already on the Devilworks slate are UK supernatural horror Demon Eye; horror Blood Bags; US fantasy thriller The Fare; British retreat thriller This Weekend Will Change Your Life; and British supernatural horror Christmas Presence.

Devilworks will introduce each project to buyers at EFM 2019 - the sales outfit will be located at Marriott Office 248.

Devilworks Encounters Alien Sci Fi ‘After The Lethargy’ and Horror Romance ‘An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)’

 

Genre sales outfit Devilworks adds two new titles to their slate for EFM (Berlin 7-15th Feb).

 

Alien Sci Fi ‘After The Lethargy’ from writer/director/producer Marc Carrete (Asmodexia, Framed), which tells the story of a young journalist who travels to a war shelter, where one of history's most terrifying alien abduction occurred and discovers she is being hunted by a family of hybrid human aliens.

The film was first presented at SITGES, as part of the Pitchbox program, when it was a proof of concept & Devilworks has boarded Worldwide rights and will present the film to buyers in Berlin at the EFM.

Starring Andrea Guasch (Submergence), Joe Manjón (Framed, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote), Ramon Canals (Asmodexia) and Mark Schardan (Realive). After The Lethargy’ was produced under Marc Carret’s Spanish production companies After The Lethargy AIE and Creatures of the Dark and is his first feature in English.

The film screened at Terror de Molins, Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre and won Best Scare at the 2018 Horror Movie Awards and Best Sci Fi at 2018 New York City Horror Film Festival. Marc Carrete and Charles Hamilton executive produced.

 

 

Devilworks also acquired International rights to Horror Romance ‘An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)’ directed and written by Anne Welles and starring Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th, Hatchet, Death House, Tag) Naomi Grossman (Sky Sharks, Fear Inc, American Horror Story) Cameron McKendry (My Friend Dahmer) Akari Endo (Who's the Boss?, SyFy Sharktopus vs WhaleWolf). Ted is not your usual Zombie; even as his skin transforms and his hunger for brains increases, he is still in denial that he is the living dead….until he meets a beautiful young vampire at a therapy session for the paranormal & his world turns totally kooky. Executive producers include Christopher Peuler, Peter A. Lees, Kane Hodder and Andrew M. Hart. An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)’ was released domestically in North America by Gravitas Ventures October 16th 2018, on VOD platforms, which include DirectTV, ITunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, Googleplay and Redbox and on DVD/BluRay on Amazon, Walmart, BestBuy, Target etc.

 

 

Devilworks full slate includes UK Supernatural Horror Demon Eye, which stars Darren Day (The Krays: Dead Man Walking) and Ellie Goffe (Suffragettes, Gun Shy), Italian Horror Blood Bags Directed by Emiliano Ranzani about

a creature that stalks the corridors of an abandoned mansion.

USA Fantasy Thriller ‘The Fare’ directed by D.C Hamilton (The Midnight Man) about a taxi driver, who is stuck in a time loop, with no escape and no memory of his past.

British retreat thriller This Weekend Will Change Your Life written and directed by Robert Mullan (Mad to be Normal, Gitel) starring David Bamber (Peterloo, Valkyrie, Miss Potter,) James Utechin (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and British Supernatural Horror Christmas Presence, which was recently released by Shudder in English speaking territories, including German Speaking Europe and stars Danny Webb (Alien 3, Churchill, Valkyrie) Charlotte Atkinson (The Rapture, The Durrells) and Lorna Brown (The Lady in the Van, Les Misérables).
