Evolutionary Films has boosted its European Film Market slate with two prime new acquisitions

London based vertically integrated finance, production, international sales and UK distribution company Evolutionary Films has boosted its European Film Market slate with a two prime new acquisitions and has also scored a number of deals for its titles Looking For Lennon and Vengeance.

The company has picked up international rights to the family animation MiBots from Wise Blue Studios to be produced by Nathalie Martinez and former Disney executive Jamie Thomason, and FutureDude Entertainment’s smart science fiction adventure Persephone from writer/director Jeffrey Morris scheduled to shoot in summer 2018 with VFX from Pixomondo (Game of Thrones) who are also a co-producer.

Separately Evolutionary Films has inked multiple deals on music documentary Looking For Lennon including China (Lemon Tree), Italy (Koch Media), Brazil (Globosat), Spain (Vertice), Poland (Against Gravity) and North America (SP Releasing) and its own in-house produced action film Vengeance in Japan (Open Sesame), Middle East (Phoenicia Pictures), China (Lemon Tree) and New Zealand (Sky).

Both Looking For Lennon and Vengeance will be released by Evolutionary Films in the UK with Vengeance scheduled for April and Looking For Lennon in May. Following the launch of Evolutionary Films’ UK distribution arm at the EFM in 2017, the company is beefing up its release schedule with a number of new titles and intends to start releasing a film every week in the UK by the end of 2018.

Other titles the company is already slating in the UK include the controversial documentary Written By Mrs Bach: Broken Silence and the slick Australian horror Out Of The Shadows. Evolutionary Films has reach into all the major TVoD and SVoD platforms, broadcast, DVD and theatrical in the UK territory and strong marketing capability thanks to its exclusive association with the award winning creative agency Feref.
