Camela Galano, former President of New Line International and Warner Bros. Acquisitions, launches new sales company

Slate Includes OPEN GRAVE from Atlas Independent and Academy Award ® Winner Julian Fellowes' ROMEO AND JULIET

Camela Galano, the former President of New Line International and Warner Bros. International Film Acquisitions, announced today the formation of her new international sales company Speranza13 Media.  The new company, which specializes in international sales and financing launches with a slate including: Atlas Independent's OPEN GRAVE, directed by visionary filmmaker Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego (APOLLO 18, El REY DE LA MONTANA) and written by Eddie & Chris Borey; and ROMEO AND JULIET, which was adapted for screen by Academy Award winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes' (DOWNTON ABBEY, GOSFORD PARK) and directed by Carlo Carlei (THE FLIGHT OF THE INNOCENT).

OPEN GRAVE is the second feature film from Atlas Independent, a division of Charles Roven's Atlas Entertainment which produces edgy independent films. Atlas Independent's William Green and Aaron Ginsburg will produce with executive producer Alan Glazer of Atlas Entertainment. Production is scheduled to begin April 2012.

OPEN GRAVE is the haunting tale of six desperate individuals who wake up with amnesia-like symptoms in a remote, desolate forest next to an open grave of rotting bodies. With nowhere to turn, they are forced to piece together the mysterious, and ultimately horrifying, set of circumstances that brought them together - before it's too late.

ROMEO AND JULIET stars Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT) as Juliet, Douglas Booth (FROM TIME TO TIME) as Romeo, Paul Giamatti (THE IDES OF MARCH) as Friar Laurence, Kodi Smit-McPhee (LET ME IN) as Benvolio and Ed Westwick (J. EDGAR) as Tybalt.  While true to its original period setting, this version of Shakespeare's classic is designed to draw a new and younger audience. The film started shooting in Italy at the beginning of this year. ROMEO AND JULIET is produced by Julian Fellowes, Illeen Maisel, and Lawrence Elman of Amber Entertainment.

Camela Galano, Founder and President of Speranza13 Media said:  "The role of the international sales agent has grown significantly in the last few years due to the economic climate.  There's a real need for valuable sales experience -- we're expecting a very strong start in Berlin and have high hopes for the titles."

Galano transitioned from a 22-year career as an international sales, marketing and distribution executive at New Line Cinema to President, International Film Acquisitions for Warner Bros Pictures where she was responsible for acquiring all media rights to English language films.

Over the course of her career, Galano's comprehensive knowledge of the international marketplace served highly instrumental in New Line's success, most notably in the record-breaking performance of THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy. The films combined to earn more than $3 billion worldwide, with nearly two-thirds of that sum coming from international territories.

Galano had previously served as president of New Line International Releasing from 2001 to 2009, during which time she oversaw and managed the sales and release of New Line films in over 120 international territories.

Galano oversaw international distribution for Picturehouse (Los Angeles) and Material Entertainment (London), joint venture between New Line and HBO Films. Galano secured financing for both divisions' projects and was credited as executive producer on RUN FAT BOY RUN, RIPLEY'S GAME, SILK and SHADOWLESS SWORD.
