30 filmmakers from the Talent Campus present their projects in the Berlin House of Representatives

30 international filmmakers from the Campus present their projects in the Berlin House of Representatives

At the Berlin House of Representatives—home amongst other events to the Co-Production Market and located across the street from the Martin-Gropius Building where the European Film Market is held—30 selected Campus filmmakers have the unique opportunity to present their projects to the festival public. In addition to participants busy advancing their feature film projects in the Doc Station and Script Station (in cooperation with FFA, SOURCES 2 and ZDF/ARTE), for the first time Short Film Station participants can also present their projects during this new initiative. On February 13, after an intensive period of script doctoring and pitching training during the Campus, these filmmakers present their first or second feature films, or in the case of short films their ideas and screenplays, to a public of visitors, producers, financiers and distributors interested in finding international business contacts and new cooperations. The initiative ends with one-to-one sessions between Campus participants and industry representatives to build networks and go into more depth with potential project partners.

Talent Campus Tokyo goes into its second round

After a promising pilot programme in 2010 and a successful premiere in 2011, the Talent Campus Tokyo goes into its second round on November 26, 2012. Within the framework of the FILMeX Festival in Japan's capital, once again 15 filmmakers from East and Southeast Asia meet with a selection of renowned experts and mentors in order to work together on the future of cinema. Invited experts include Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul; the Hongkongese filmmaker, distributor and film professor Kei Shu; founder of Coproduction Office, one of the leading European sales and production companies for arthouse films, Philippe Bober; and Berlinale Talent Campus project manager Christine Tröstrum. In addition to giving lectures, these experts will work throughout the week with selected Talents on their submitted film projects. At the end of the week, the Talents present their film projects to the film industry representatives in attendance. Talent Campus Tokyo is organised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Tokyo Culture Creation Project, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, and the TOKYO FILMeX Organizing Committee.

The Berlinale Talent Campus is an initiative of the Berlin International Film Festival, a business division of the Kultur-veranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin GmbH, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, in co-operation with MEDIA - Training programme of the European Union, Robert Bosch Stiftung and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
