The Barossa Film Festival 2013 is a three day event with films playing at different venues on Friday and Saturday, with a wind down on after party on Sunday.
The films will be screened at the following iconic Barossa venues:
Friday
Venue: Chateau Tanunda
12:00 – 2:30: The Long Table Lunch
The event kicks off with the Long Table Lunch, held in the Chateau Ballroom. The food and wine is gourmet all the way, lovingly prepared by award winning superstar chef Owen Andrews. It’s very, very “Chateau Tanunda” and very, very Barossa. Rub shoulders with local celebrity winemakers and the political and economic movers and shakers of the valley. We promise, you’ll have a ball. (Check out the gallery pictures on the home page if you want to get a taste.)
The price is still being locked in, but at this stage we’re looking at around $55 a head.
2:30 – 5:00: The Barrel Hall Dungeon
At three, we grab our glasses and descend deep into the bowels of the Chateau. Horrors and Thrillers will be screened in the Chateau barrel hall, cabaret style. Sit around romantic candle lit tables, sharing wine and popcorn, while the mayhem plays out on the big screen.
Venue: The Tanunda Club
6:00 – 7:30: The Clubhouse Lava Lounge
From six onwards we’re all upstairs at the Tanunda Clubhouse lava lounge for food and fun. It’s a 60s love in. Lava lamps set the scene. Retro-TVs fill the air with music clips. More food, more wine, more beer.
7:30 – 11:00: Lava Lounge Screenings
At 7:30 the screenings start. Sprawl on the couches, the beanbags and the carpet and chill. Popcorn and pizza, wine and beer, comedy shorts followed by an action and adventure feature… who could ask for anything more?
Saturday
Venues: Rolf Binder Wines &Kaesler Wines
1:00 – 5:00 Barrel Hall Screenings
Whether it’s at Rolf Binder Wines & Kaesler Wines, you can check out films aplenty all Saturday afternoon. Kicking off at 1:00 with a series of shorts, the screenings each culminate with a feature, rounding out that afternoon around 5:00. Screened in the barrel halls, with the most amazing reds the Barossa has to offer, this has to be one of the best ways to watch movies anyone could imagine. And you’re going to love it.
Venue: Barossa Valley Brewing
6:00 – 8:30: Saturday “Buzz Night” Awards Night
On Saturday night from 6:00 – 8:30 there’ll be a “Buzz night” tiki torch party on the Barossa Valley Brewing beer garden lawn and balcony at the Tanunda cutting. There’ll be beer, food, wine, atmosphere and music. Films will screen on TVs.
At 8:00 (or thereabouts) the award winners will be announced and trophy’s awarded in the various categories.
Once it gets dark… the lights go down and the films will screen out on the lawn. Food, wine, beer and films, who could ask for anything more!
Sunday
Sunday Recovery/After Party
Sunday will be the after party recovery day. This will be held at the Tanunda Club “Clubhouse” where filmmakers will get the opportunity reconnect and mingle with locals as they re-cap the festival that was.
