2019 FIFOG Awards

2019 FIFOG AWARD WINNERS

Geneva, the 4th of May

The award ceremony of the 14th edition of the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival was held on May the 4th in a festive atmosphere thanks to various artistic interludes: dances, humor and a fashion show. On this occasion, the juries of the feature, short film, documentary, critic and school competitions made their respective prize lists public. The evening was prolonged with the screening of Ken Scott's L'Extraordinaire voyage du fakir", in the presence of actor Abel Jafri and Executive Producer Yamina Belarbi.

The festival also takes place on Sunday with multiple screenings in the presence of several guests. On Sunday, the public can still enjoy movies with an oriental cinema-brunch. The audience will also have the opportunity to participate in two debates on the rights of LGBT communities in the East and on dialogue between Palestinians and settlers in Israel. After the weekend, the FIFOG will invest several shelters for asylum seekers located in the Geneva area.
