A special Q&A session with director Moverman and actor Woody Harrelson immediately followed. THE MESSENGER is a powerful and heartfelt Iraq War film about a wounded Army war hero Staff Sgt. Will Montgomery (Ben Foster) who is reassigned to the Army's casualty-notification service under the supervision of Capt. Tony Stone (Woody Harrelson), a veteran of the first Persian Gulf war. Together they bring the overwhelming unwelcome
news to family members in their homes that a loved one has passed away in
combat. This compassionate film genuinely reveals the complexities of war.
