Love Prevails in A Tale of Three Cities (San Cheng Ji)

By Maria Esteves – August 25, 2016

A TALE OF THREE CITIES (San Cheng Ji) is a romantic dramatic masterpiece! Set in China during 1930s wartime, from the rise of Nazi Germany to the Jewish Holocaust to the outbreak of the Second World War, this powerful biopic explores the timeless love story of two souls in search for freedom Chen Yuerong (Tang Wei) and Fang Daolong (Sean Lau), the late parents of Hong Kong actor, producer, film director and stuntman Jackie Chan. The epic journey begins when Chen and Fang meet in the village of Anhui during the Chinese Civil War causing the human tragedy of separation then escaping to Shanghai and Hong Kong for safety and in the hopes of reuniting. The movie’s soundtrack composed by Henry Lai is extraordinary!
