Kutsher's Documentary Now On DVD, Digital & On Demand

By Maria Esteves - June 20, 2015

"Examines the history, influence and ethos of the fading Sullivan County resort with an eye and ear for the hotel's legacy that transcends East Coast American Judaism." - Bruce Bennett, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Kutsher’s is "celebrated in an elegiac 2012 documentary, Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resort, which is being updated in December with a final section chronicling the hotel’s demolition to make way for a yoga retreat.'" - Edward Rothstein, THE NEW YORK TIMES

"Tighten your borscht belt and prepare for Wilt Chamberlain sightings." - TIMEOUT NEW YORK

"An extraordinary historical documentary .... a wonderful family film!" - Maria Esteves, THE JEWISH VOICE

“A great documentary about the hotel's heyday and its current faded glory.” - BON APPETIT

"One priceless moment in the film that's worth noting is the footage of a young, seven-foot-plus Wilt Chamberlain who, while working as a bell hop at the resort, wouldn't bother to climb the stairs. He'd simply wait for you to open your window, then hand your luggage up to you on the second floor."

An Interview with Award Winning Documentarian Ian Rosenberg

Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resorts, is an extraordinary historical documentary that immerses views in the history of the famous Jewish American vacation resort Kutsher’s, in the Catskills of New York, from 1907 to present day. The film captures Kutsher’s three family generations that brought in top names in entertainment, including stand-up comedy and sports, such as Alan King, Billy Crystal, Jerry Steinfeld, Joan Rivers, JoJo Starbuck, Leon Spinks, Muhammad Ali, Ray Charles, Rocky Marciano, Stiller and Meara, Wilt Chamberlain, and many others. Kutsher’s Resort’s Annual NBA Memorial Basketball Game benefit for Maurice Stokes was a major sell out sports event. Activities at Kutsher’s included Art, Bridge, Bingo, golf, indoor/outdoor pools, ping pong, facial make over spa, lectures on health and nutrition.

This summer, experience the Catskills in New York or take a trip down memory lane with Welcome to Kutsher's: The Last Catskills Resort documentary is now on DVD, DIGITAL & ON DEMAND.
