Out of the box animation comedy that has Rai TV Italy primary partner & broadcaster, is already into production with multiple other deals in Europe

Milan based Studio Campedelli & Singapore and India based Cosmos-Maya today unveiled their new project ‘Atchoo’ to the media at MIFA this year. The show has been pre-sold to Rai TV Italy, & tells the story of Teo, a 9 year old boy who has a strange way of expressing his emotions; he turns into an animal, every time he sneezes. How his transformation essentially creates troubles in his life and brings the house down in effect is essentially the crux of the plot of the show. Scheduled for a Fall 2017 launch, the show has secured many an interest from broadcasters across the world even before its official launch at the market.

Speaking on the occasion, Pietro Campedelli CEO – Studio Campedelli said, “Atchoo has a very simple & appealing storyline which blends situational as well as slapstick humour very well. It has a universal story that kids across the world will find very relatable. We are very happy to have found a strong Asian partner on the show in Cosmos-Maya. Adding further Anish Mehta, CEO – Cosmos-Maya & Producer on the show said, “At Cosmos-Maya we are producing 8 TV shows for the Indian market and Atchoo happens to be our first international co-production, which we have selected out of several co-production proposals. The show, with its universal appeal and globally identical expression of ‘Atchoo’ with sneezing; has the right blend of humour and emotions and I am very excited to be part of this project, as it is one of the few projects of European origin which has a strong Asian and worldly connect.”

In addition to the presales with Rai TV Italy, Atchoo has secured multiple presales deals with European broadcasters. The show has also has plum publishing deal with major Italian publisher Giunti right from the beginning and the books will be in stores in tandem with the launch of the show. While Cosmos-Maya is also handling the distribution for the series within its stronghold Asia Pacific & Middle East; B&R 360 is handling the distribution in other territories. B&R360’S Ignacio Orive added, “In the first few months of pitching Atchoo, the series has been well received by international broadcasters. We have already secured sales in Spain & Portugal and will be announcing few more deals before MIPCOM.”

Ready to be launched at MIFA, the show seems to hit all the right notes from the beginning.
