Animaze is an international film festival and conference dedicated to exploring the world of animation in all its diversity. Filmmakers from over 65 countries working in a wide range of genres and styles converge on Montreal in the summer. We engage audiences and develop new opportunities in a unique and fast growing art form.

ANIMAZE presents le MIAFF! a Montreal based international animation film festival and industry conference providing a showcase for animators and animation producers to showcase and market their works including technology and anything animated in the digital landscape as a digital art or even for research purposes in the field of science.

ANIMAZE is registered non-profit organization with feature animation film as its prime focus. ANIMAZE is an animation industry conference, workshops for animators, producers network, cocktail networking and ANIMAZE DAZE international co-production incentive. Le Festival International du cinéma d'Animation présente des longs métrages d'animation, des courts ainsi que des films expérimentaux. Des conférences de l'industrie, des panels d'intervenants ainsi que des coproductions internationales seront au rendez vous. Des Ateliers sur l'état de l'art. Une Sélection internationale de films pour le public, des panels d'intervenants et une plate-forme éducative pour enfants.

Animaze 2018 - Program and new poster revealed

Animaze is 5 years old!

Animaze: The Montreal International Animation Film Festival takes place August 16-19 with exciting outdoor screening nights, special singalong presentation of the iconic Yellow Submarine and a 48 hour animation contest!

This year’s 5th edition of the festival is packed with surprises for our guests and audiences in Montreal, starting with a VR open air presentation at St. Patrick's park in Griffin Town! The park, being transformed for a variety of outdoor screenings in summer, will host Animaze this year, starting on August 16th with VR installations free to explore while having a drink and a bite from our exclusive food and drink trucks on site.

For all guests and interested participants we will also introduce AniMTL, a 48 hour animation challenge around Montreal. Stay tuned for the full details and info on how to participate in the next few days!

On Friday 17th August, we can’t wait to welcome you all for our first free outdoor screenings in the park, with a special screening of Sgt. Stubby: An unlikely hero & a compilation of great animation shorts. Full programme will be available on our website soon.

A special 50th anniversary singalong screening of the Yellow Submarine will take you back in time with some timeless Beatles moments on Saturday evening in our outdoor screening space, where you can make a full summer night out of it, with drinks and food available from the Animaze food trucks.

On Sunday afternoon we will announce the winners of our AniMTL challenge and have a farewell tour around the Mount Royal for our guests, ending with some traditional Montreal food and drinks.

Animaze a 5 ans!

La cinquième édition d’Animaze, le Festival international du film d'animation de Montréal se tiendra du 16 au 19 août avec des soirées de projection en plein air, une présentation spéciale de l'emblématique Yellow Submarine et un concours d'animation de 48 heures!

La 5e édition du festival sera remplie de surprises pour nos invités et notre public à Montréal, parmi ces surprises on peut compter une présentation en plein air dans le Parc St. Patrick de la ville de Griffin! Le parc, en cours de transformation pour une variété de projections en plein air, accueillera Animaze cette année, à partir du 16 août avec des installations de réalité virtuelle à explorer tout en sirotant un verre et une bouchée de nos camions de nourritures exclusifs, sur place.

Pour tous les invités et les participants intéressés, nous présenterons AniMTL, un défi d'animation de 48 heures autour de Montréal. Restez à l'écoute car tous les détails et les informations sur la façon de participer seront dévoilés dans les prochains jours!

Le vendredi 17 août, nous avons hâte de vous accueillir tous pour nos premières projections gratuites en plein air dans le parc, avec une projection spéciale du film Sgt. Stubby: An unlikely hero & une compilation de grands courts métrages d'animation. Le programme complet sera bientôt disponible sur notre site.

Une projection spéciale en l‘honneur du 50e anniversaire du Yellow Submarine vous ramènera dans le temps avec des moments cultes des Beatles le samedi soir dans notre espace de projection en plein air. Vous pourrez rester et passer une nuit d'été complète à l’extérieur, avec des boissons et de la nourriture provenant des camions de nourriture Animaze pour vous approvisionner sur place.

Le dimanche après-midi, nous annoncerons les gagnants de notre défi AniMTL et ferons une tournée d'adieu autour du mont Royal pour nos invités, en terminant par des mets et boissons traditionnels montréalais.
