Animation Day in Cannes

Laurie Gordon was born and raised in Montreal Canada both her parents born in Budapest Hungary.  She is the director of Animaze a non profit organization which produces The Montreal International Animation Film Festival and Animation Day in Cannes.

Laurie is also a media entrepreneur,  lover of new technology and  film director and producer. She regularly covers the film festival circuit for filmfestivals.com and is a regular speaker at industry conferences and film festival panels. 

Laurie graduated from Concordia University in music  and is an accomplished vocalist and composer. She launched her career in film becoming the "accidental" film producer while working on Spare Change the late animator Oscar nominee Ryan Larkin, the subject of the Oscar winning film Ryan. She produced Oscar winner Co Hoedeman’s film 55 Socks where she also scored the soundtrack.   

Laurie is currently working with three time Oscar nominee Gerald Potterton on various film projects including the documentary  The Flying Animator and animation film High Flight.
