![]() Thomas Mann attached to Beef from The ExchangeBrian O'Shea, The Exchange CEO, announced today that THE EXCHANGE acquired international sales rights for the movie BEEF and attached Thomas Mann (ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL, SKULL ISLAND) as the lead.
WME is handling domestic rights.
The Exchange will introduce Jeff Lock's 2014 Black List script BEEF to international buyers at AFM'16.
Starring Thomas Mann, BEEF will be directed by John Stalberg Jr. (HIGH SCHOOL). BEEF is also produced by Tom McNulty from MC2 Entertainment (DATE NIGHT, THE SPECTACULAR NOW, TABLE 19).
After THE SPECTACULAR NOW, BEEF is the second project that The Exchange is handling internationally for producer Tom McNulty
In the vein of FARGO, BEEF is a thrilling and darkly comic story of a small town fast food manager who gets in way over his head with the local crime syndicate.
"BEEF is a smart, fun and has a high concept film that can be sold globally. The script is a great read, with pitch perfect dialogue, interesting characters, and compelling storylines. This dark comedy is perfect for all audiences including millennials, and will be a great platform for Thomas Mann," said Brian O'Shea from The Exchange.
The Exchange AFM line-up includes Award winning documentary GLEASON, A STREET CAT NAMED BOB, KICKBOXER: VENGEANCE and RETALIATION and is starting production on two features: Stephanie Laing's IRREPLACEABLE YOU, Justin Chadwick's THE LADY AND THE PANDA and Lin Oeding's OFFICE UPRISING, November'16.
