The Forest Road Company rounds out fundraising at 120M$
Zachary Tarica, CEO & Founder of The Forest Road Company, an independent specialty film financing company, announced today that they have secured an additional $70M in committed capital to the previously announced $50M, bringing total assets to $120M.
Production companies can capitalize their films by borrowing from Forest Road against their film tax credits and rebates at below market rates. Forest Road can lend against credits tied to movie budgets as small as US$100,000.
Since setting up shop in LA and New York only six months ago, Forest Road has provided funding for over a dozen films including SKIN (Jamie Bell, acquired by A24 and DirecTV), THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER (Maggie Gyllenhaal, acquired by Netflix), DRIVEWAYS (directed by Andrew Ahn), and ALL THESE SMALL MOMENTS (Molly Ringwald, acquired by Orion).
“We strive to offer the most cost effective and seamless financing solutions for filmmakers, and we are thrilled to continue to raise capital to help responsible creators across the industry. We are looking to finance over 50 movies next year,” says Zachary Tarica.
FOREST ROAD COMPANY The Forest Road Company is a vertically integrated specialty finance company catering to the independent film industry. Forest Road’s most recent projects include Skin, The Kindergarten Teacher, Driveways, and Silo. For more information visit: www.forestroadco.com
