Olga Kurylenko is set to star as the title character in the action packed crime thriller Jane Millen
Olga Kurylenko is set to star as the title character in the action packed crime thriller Jane Millen it was announced today by 13 Films President, Tannaz Anisi who produces the film alongside Karen Kehela Sherwood (A Beautiful Mind, Blue Crush, Inside Man) and former Endgame executive Greg Schenz.
Currently in pre-production, the feature is written and directed by the acclaimed director Cynthia Mort (Nina, The Brave One), and is slated to begin production in April 2017.
Jane Millen is the story of a seasoned cop battling her own demons. As her family life spins out of control, Jane focuses on the one thing she’s good at to gain a sense of control - her job as a police detective. Jane is put on a suspicious murder case of an affluent couple who got mixed up with the wrong man. Her investigation takes her down a rabbit hole, as affairs, jealousies and dark secrets emerge that threaten to involve her own private life. Jane finds herself in the middle of an investigation with surprising results that no one could have seen coming.
13 Films is structuring the finance and packaging the film as well as handling worldwide sales. The company will introduce Jane Millen to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.
Jai Khanna of Brillstein Entertainment Partners is serving as executive producer.
Mort penned the Jodi Foster crime thriller The Brave One for Warner Bros. which earned Foster a Golden Globe nomination. She most recently wrote and directed the 2016 biopic Nina starring Zoe Saldana and David Oyelowo.
“Olga's experience in portraying strong, complicated characters, as well as the depth of her talent, not only inspires tremendous confidence, but also great excitement about what she will bring to this role," said Cynthia Mort.
“Olga is a mesmerizing actress who has proven herself as an international star across all genres,” commented Anisi. “The pulse pounding script and Olga’s complex character are sure to shine under the directing hands of such an accomplished filmmaker as Cynthia. We could not be more delighted to be producing this film.”
Kurylenko most recently appeared in Giuseppe Tornatore’s La Corrispondenza with Jeremy Irons and A Perfect Day co-starring Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins which world premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and was released in the U.S. by IFC films. Her past credits include The November Man co-starring Pierce Brosnan, Oblivion with Tom Cruise, Terrence Malick’s To The Wonder and Quantum Of Solace opposite Daniel Craig.
