MinersINC all set to bring International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) titles to India on myNK™ VoD platform

MinersINC all set to bring critically acclaimed International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) titles to India on myNK™ VoD (Video on Demand)

IFFR’s web streaming service IFFR Unleashed to be relayed on myNK app as pilot collaboration to showcase cutting-edge world cinema screened at IFFR

MinersINC, a blockchain-powered decentralized P2P (Peer-to-Peer) digital content distribution platform, today inked a pilot deal with globally renowned International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). As a festival, IFFR curates films, encourages and stimulates arthouse cinema of independent filmmakers, designs services like IFFR Pro to develop talented professionals in all kinds of disciplines and provides the space for inspiring exchange of ideas.

As part of this exclusive collaboration, MinersINC has launched a branded corner of IFFR’s web streaming service IFFR Unleashed on myNK, MinersINC’s world cinema and entertainment content VoD, offering a mutually curated selection of cutting-edge and critically acclaimed titles showcased at IFFR over the years, for the burgeoning cinephile community in India. This is the first-ever collaboration of IFFR with an Indian entertainment content service and the first in blockchain. IFFR Unleashed showcase corner made its  debut on myNK in India in September 2019, and titles will be periodically refreshed, leading up to and around the January 2020 edition of IFFR and related IFFR Pro initiatives, in which MinersINC will participate.

Marjan van der Haar, managing director of IFFR: “In our mission to bring quality cinema to the right audiences, we’re always looking for new collaborations. We’re thrilled to partner with such an innovative platform as myNK, which is sure to connect the large community of Indian film fans with the type of boundary-pushing films showcased at IFFR.”

Nitin Narkhede, Founder & CEO, MinersINC: “Aligned with IFFR’s mission, MinersINC through myNK has paved way into discovering world cinema with rich narrative for the Indian film-fan base that has strong affinity towards these films. The unique blockchain-based business model not only enables access to these films but also empowers members to contribute to the micro-distribution ecosystem.”

The underlying blockchain-powered technology of myNK will assist IFFR Unleashed to directly and transparently track the film views 24/7 and glean data about the Indian viewer consumption patterns for its films in the new market. The partnership with IFFR and IFFR Unleashed will help MinersINC reiterate the strong vision it shares for myNK, to help broaden the entertainment content spectrum beyond just mainstream and local content, making India the melting pot of world entertainment.

About IFFR Unleashed

International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has over 48 years of experience in curating film, supporting independent filmmakers, and providing a place for an inspiring exchange of ideas. IFFR Unleashed brings all of this together in one online streaming platform. The service features festival favourites from previous IFFR line-ups and other hand-picked auteur highlights, with its editorial line defined as: Arthouse wonders, unknown pleasures and audience favourites. The platform has a strong focus on film directors and is enriched with new films regularly, offering close to 300 titles to date, including curated collections around different themes, geographical locations, genres or filmmakers.

IFFR 49th edition will take place from January 22 to February 2, 2020.

About MinersINC

MinersINC (https://minersinc.io/) is a blockchain-powered decentralized P2P (Peer-to-Peer) digital content distribution platform that uses the transformative power of blockchain technology to build an ecosystem that empowers right-holders and consumers to interact and facilitate the creation of a highly engaged community.

The company recently launched India’s first-ever blockchain-powered world cinema and entertainment (films and series) VoD (Video-on-Demand) platform myNK™  that utilizes a transparent community-driven fan-centric approach and advocates the concept of  transactional VoD (TVoD)/PPV model enabling direct and more rewarding interactions between the distributors/right-holders and their target audiences. The film community can participate in the on-selling of VoD rentals (for commission) to other fans, a form of incentivised micro-distribution within the platform, and the platform is equipped with a robust and exclusive content security infrastructure protected by public key cryptography.

myNK’s library currently consists of 200+ titles. These includes critically acclaimed titles from Cannes, Tribeca, Sundance, SxSW, Berlinale and, recently, IFFR for Indian world cinema lovers as well as top drama series, most of which have not been available to India before. Anurag Kashyap (acclaimed Indian film maker & member of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences), helms the role of Mentor and Chief Curator at myNK. Besides running operations and adding more film and content partners for myNK, MinersINC is also offering the technology as PAAS (Platform as A Servicer) to other OTT service providers and content owners.
